McGonagle's, an Irish-American pub in Dorchester, has made restaurant history less than 12 months after its opening. The pub has been named to the New York Times' list of the 50 best American restaurants for 2025.
McGonagle's has gained popularity for its strong community ties and authentic Irish heritage, making it a standout in the Boston food scene.
McGonagle's owner, Oran McGonagle, and business partner and head chef, Aidan McGee of Donegal, Ireland, have gone out of their way to bring a taste of Ireland to Boston. The pub serves traditional dishes like spice bags and battered sausages, according to an Irish Independent report.
McGonagle's is known for its no-frills atmosphere and as a watering hole for locals.
McGonagle's is at 367 Neponset Ave. in Dorchester. The restaurant is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. View its menu online.
