Construction has been approved for a new mixed-use development near the Boston Landing MBTA station in Allston.

Work will begin later this month on the residential portion of a two-story building project from Marblehead, Massachusetts-based Bracken Development and Philadelphia-based Pennrose, according to the Boston Business Journal.

A construction permit has been approved for an 88-unit apartment building at 59 Everett St. in Allston. The project also includes 385,700 square feet of commercial space on the property at the adjacent 119 Braintree St. However, the office building has not received permitting.

According to ConnectCRE of Boston & New England, the development is located in a historically industrial area of Allston that has experienced substantial growth since the Boston Landing station opened in 2017. The neighborhood is currently undergoing development, including projects such as Allston Yards and Boston Landing, as well as several standalone apartment complexes.
