TD Garden celebrated its 30th anniversary on Tuesday, Sept. 30, with a "Golden Birthday Pop-Up Party" at The Hub on Causeway in Boston. Attendees enjoyed cupcakes, music, giveaways, photo opportunities, and goody bags, all set within a lively atmosphere to mark 30 years of sports, entertainment, and community contributions.
The event honored long-standing team members and Boston Garden Society members with a meet-and-greet featuring Boston Bruins legends Cam Neely, now the president of the Boston Bruins, and Bob Sweeney, now the president of the Boston Bruins Foundation. This celebration also commemorated TD Garden's ongoing commitment to the Boston community.
The City of Boston and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts officially recognized the event as "TD Garden Day," highlighting the landmark's significance to the city.
During the celebration event, TD Garden made a $30,000 donation to Community Work Services, supporting job training and employment programs for individuals facing employment barriers in Boston.
According to information provided by NewsCenter 5 Boston, the building, which serves as the home court for the Celtics and home ice for the Bruins, replaced the historic Boston Garden in 1995. It was initially called the FleetCenter, then TD Banknorth Garden. In 2009, the name was shortened to TD Garden.
