The upcoming Outermost Roots and Blues Festival will return to Nauset Beach in Orleans, Cape Cod, on Saturday, Oct. 11, and Sunday, Oct. 12. This year will mark the fifth year for the festival and the third consecutive year since the COVID-19 pandemic put the event on hold from 2020 to 2022.

Leading up to the festival, the Outermost Friday Market in the Park on Friday, Oct. 10, will feature local merchants, food, beer, wine, and live music. The market, organized by the Orleans Chamber of Commerce, will take place on the village green at the intersection of Route 28 and Main Street.

On Saturday and Sunday, attendees can get to the festival via shuttle buses operating from various town locations. Admission to the festival begins at 11 a.m., with music beginning at noon each day. Guests are allowed to bring the following items to the festival:

  • “Low back” beach chairs
  • Reusable water bottles
  • Small bags

The following items are prohibited:

  • Blankets
  • Coolers

Festival attendees will enjoy musical performances on two stages. Here's a look at the lineups for Saturday and Sunday:

“I think it's huge,” said festival organizer Mike McNamara in a statement shared with The Cape Cod Chronicle. His Hog Island Beer Co. coordinated this year's concert alongside Dutton and the nonprofit Friends of Nauset Beach. “The one big thing that Garrett and I really discussed at length was celebrating local bands that have their own music. We don't want it to be a cover band program. I think it's a nice blend of people celebrating their music that have ties to this area who are up-and-comers of sorts.”

As a family-friendly event, the festival will also include food trucks, beverage and ice cream vendors, a kids' corner run by The Black Dog, and more activities.
