Andover has announced its schedule for three spooky Halloween festivities:
- A Howl-O-Ween event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25, from noon to 4:00 p.m. in The Park.
- A downtown trick-or-treat event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Official trick-or-treating in the town will occur on Friday, Oct. 31, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Andover officials are also reminding adults and children to practice the following safety precautions for safe Halloween celebrations:
- Drivers should exercise caution by slowing down and being mindful of their surroundings while driving on roads in and around the community during these events. Stay alert for children crossing streets.
- Trick-or-treaters should carry flashlights or glow sticks to remain visible at night. Alternatively, they can add reflective tape to costumes. Children should wear costumes and masks that do not obstruct their movement or vision.
- Children should walk on sidewalks or face traffic if sidewalks are unavailable. They should cross streets only at corners or crosswalks and avoid sudden crossings between parked cars.
- Kids are advised not to enter strangers' homes or vehicles.
- Parents and guardians should ensure children travel in groups, with younger kids supervised closely.
