Chick-fil-A has launched a new delivery-only kitchen in the CloudKitchens space in Boston's Roxbury Newmarket Foodhub. It will operate from Monday to Saturday between 6:30 a.m. and 11 p.m., focusing solely on delivery orders.

The Boston delivery kitchen, named Chick-fil-A Boston Delivery, is managed by local owner-operator Matt DeMichele-Rigoni, who also owns the Chick-fil-A in Copley Square. DeMichele-Rigoni, who has a long history with Chick-fil-A dating back to the age of 15, became an owner-operator of Copley Square in 2022.

“I am incredibly grateful to open this delivery-focused kitchen, where we can provide our guests with even greater convenience and accessibility to their Chick-fil-A favorites,” DeMichele-Rigoni said in a statement shared with the website Food on Demand. “By dedicating this CloudKitchens space to delivery, we're not only better serving our guests, but also significantly increasing our capacity to serve delicious food more efficiently. We're thrilled about the opportunity to continue serving Boston with the same quality and care our guests have come to expect.”

The opening of the Chick-fil-A Boston Delivery location will have an impact on the Boston food delivery market, creating approximately 25 to 30 jobs. According to Food on Demand, Chick-fil-A will make a $25,000 donation to the Greater Boston Food Bank and plans to collaborate with nonprofits to redirect surplus food.

Since partnering with DoorDash in 2018, Chick-fil-A has expanded its delivery capabilities. The company has been experimenting with delivery robots and drones to enhance service.

Meanwhile, CloudKitchens has also had its own share of growth. CloudKitchens was founded by former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick to support the expansion of restaurant delivery services.
