71-year-old Don Gorske of Wisconsin just hit another milestone.  You might know him better by his nickname, the Big Mac Guy. Because Mr Gorske has a very unusual fondness for McDonald's signature hamburger the Big Mac.

It's not just a love of the Big Mac that any fan might have of the beloved triple decker burger, you see he is rather obsessed with them and it all started way back in the 1970's

He had his first Big Mac in 1972 and loved it so much, he ate two more.  Then he went back the same day and ate six more.  So, nine total, and he hasn't stopped. That is the day his 53 year obsession began and continues to this day. In fact, if you're in his neck of the woods, there's a good chance you could have a brush with fame, because he continues going for his Big Macs just about every day. To be precise he's averaged two Big Macs a day for 53 years.  And he hit 35,000 on Saturday.

He did it at the same McDonald's in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin where he bought the first Big Mac.  Fans and media were there for it.  He handed out commemorative buttons and coupons for a free value meal.

A Big Time Big Mac obsession

You can't eat this many Big Macs and be known all around the world without being totally obsessed with them. Sure there are people that have an obsession with a certain candy or treat like Oreo's for instance. There are people who claim to enjoy an Oreo every day, but that's a dessert not a meal so that really doesn't count.

For Don Gorske, The Big Mac guy it is something that has pretty much take over his life for the past 50 plus years. He's been open about having O.C.D. and says it's why he's so obsessed with them.  He claims they make up at least 90% of his diet, so he walks six miles a day to make up for it.

He earned a Guinness World Record in 1999 after 15,000 Big Macs, and he takes his record very seriously.  He claims he's saved every receipt, and every Big Mac container as well. Let that sink in, he has cataloged every single one of his beloved sandwich in a fastidious and extremely detailed way. In other words, he can whip out a receipt from his purchases since 1972 when Big Macs only cost 50 cents.
It’s safe to say that Don Gorske’s record is going to be safe for generations to come, unless there’s someone else out there trying to take it on. Good luck with that because The Big Mac Guy has no plans to stop any time soon.

ALL of McDonald’s Burgers are Changing, And a Fan Favorite Is Coming Back

McDonald's is making some major changes to its burgers. If you're a fan of the McDonald's burger, you'll either LOVE the upgrades or you'll hate them. There's no in between. Before we talk about the changes, let's talk about what we love about the current burgers at McDonald's. First, that soft bun is just mouth watering. There's something about those sesame seeds that is a perfect pairing to the all beef patty in between. Unless you're eating a hamburger, cheeseburger or quarter pounder when you're eating just the plain bun. Other ingredients in the burgers like the fabulous pickles, the chopped up onions and the melted cheese add the perfect amount of flavor to these legendary meals. Then of course there is the beef. The all beef patties are of course cooked on a flat top grill, not a grill in the traditional sense. They also brag that they are committed to quality and a more sustainable beef production. Their patties are 100% real beef and seasoned with just a pinch of salt and pepper.

But all of that is about to change. The changes come in the wake of company-wide restructuring amid layoffs and pay reduction for some of its employees. As of right now, the new burger changes have already been put in place in Australia, Canada and Belgium. They will be introduced in U.S. cities Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Sacramento, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Denver, Boise, Tucson THIS week. The rest of the cities in the U.S. will see the burger changes in early 2024. Chef Chad Schafer says all of the changes are to improve the taste of the burgers to where they will be more flavorful than ever. We'll be the judge of that. Here are the changes coming to the McDonald's burgers. But first, a fan favorite is coming back!

McDonald's Quarterly Profits Rise 5.5 Percent, Beating Estimates

The Hamburglar is back!

The villain is back because he says these burgers are the best burgers EVER.

New McFlurry is now available

The Strawberry McFlurry is now available. Starting today, the McFlurry made with vanilla soft serve, strawberry-flavored clusters and crushed shortbread cookies is available for a limited time.

Burger buns will be softer

The buns will be softer and toasted to a golden brown.  They're being described as soft and pillowy.

Cheese will be meltier

No word if they're changing the type of cheese but it will melt more onto the burgers.

More Big Mac sauce

There will be more Big Mac "special sauce" added to its iconic burger. It's being described as a "messier pub burger."

Onions are changing

Instead of adding the onions on the end, they'll be added right on the grill to create a more caramelized flavor.

Grill settings will be adjusted

According to Chef Chad Schafer, adjusting the grill settings will make for tastier burgers.
