James Taylor Adds Two MGM Music Hall Shows to Summer Tour
James Taylor is bringing two more nights of music to Boston’s MGM Music Hall. He just added August 26 and 27 to his busy summer tour schedule, which now runs into September.
Taylor will first play at Tanglewood Music Center July 3 and 4. Massachusetts is special to the singer – he’s performed everywhere, from the Boston Garden to Fenway Park.
“American Standard,” Taylor’s latest album, went straight to number one on Billboard’s US Top Rock Albums chart. The album earned him his sixth Grammy, adding to an incredible career that includes spots in both the Rock and Roll and Songwriters Halls of Fame.
Up-and-coming band Tiny Habits will open the MGM shows. The three-piece group blends different musical styles, creating unique performances that surprise their audiences.
With major tours coming back after the pandemic, these shows feel like a return to better times. Each concert features new songs alongside the classics that fans love.
Taylor has a long history with Tanglewood – it’s been like a second home for his music over the years. He’s given many memorable performances at the Lenox venue.
Taylor’s Boston shows always sell quickly. The added MGM dates give fans four chances to see him in Massachusetts this summer, but tickets won’t stick around for long.
With “American Standard,” his twentieth studio album, Taylor puts his own spin on classic songs. The album shows he’s still making great music after all this time.
His mix of folk, rock, and pop brings in fans of all ages. These summer shows will deliver the kind of concert experience that’s kept people coming back for 50 years.
