If you love certain kind of foods that might be considered "junk food" then you may not like the news presented here as we list the Top 5 Worst Foods you can eat. They will probably not come as a surprise to you at all, but you may be surprised about high they are on the list.

Americans love fast food and that's probably the reason the whole world is now binging on our western diet of "convenience foods". If you travel anywhere on the planet you will see that our greatest export might be the hundreds of fast food chains that have made their way around the globe.

You can pop into a KFC in Tokyo, a McDonalds in Moscow and a Taco Bell in Turkey. We have everyone eating our foods and unfortunately as a our fast foods spread, so do everyone's waistlines.

It's no secret that not only are we Americans getting fatter and sicker, but now the entire world is starting to see alarming rates of obesity and all kinds of health maladies including diabetes, high blood pressure numbers and off the chart cholesterol.

We present these 5 Worst Foods not to shame anyone, but to give a head's up to remind us that we need to eat these foods in moderation and not make them a daily staple of our diets. They always say that moderation is the key and they're right. Having an occasional bad meal or two every so often will not kill you, it's when we are getting too much too often that does the killing.

The website EatThis.com put out a list of the 100 unhealthiest foods on the planet.  Here are some of the most obvious culprits . . .

1.  Potato chips: We love our chips and sadly for most of us we can't eat a sandwich without them. If you want your chips, keep them as an occasional treat and in small measured servings. Maybe try a side salad or go without. Save the chips for the parties.

2.  White bread: There's nothing healthy about mass produced white bread, they are packed with carbs which become sugar when digested. Go for a healthier bread, like sourdough, rye or pumpernickel. Far tastier than plain old white bread.

3.  Processed meats, like bacon and hot dogs: These shouldn't be consumed very often due to the amount of nitrates and sodium. Cardiologists have long warned of the bad health effects of these, so you are probably not surprised.

4.  French fries: They have made their way from a once in a while treat to practically being on every plate to accompany whatever is being served. Instead opt for a healthier side dish and save the fries for a once in a while treat.

5.  Fast-food burgers: We love our burgers and for good reason, they're delicious and all American. We were raised on hamburgers, but they used to be a once a month treat, now some of us eat them multiple times a week. They are loaded with unhealthy fats and that is not including the cheese, bacon, bun and whatever else we have them with. Go for a quality lean cut of hamburger and keep them to one or two a month tops.

Starting a new habit is hard. But adding a new habit onto an existing one is easier. You could add mindfulness to your morning coffee routine, or practice gratitude as you brush your teeth.

2. Micro-meditations

Working out

Checking in with yourself doesn't need to take long.  A simple technique is focusing on your breath as you inhale for a count of four . . . hold for a count of seven . . . and exhale for a count of eight.

3. Five-minute workouts

Research shows even short bursts of regular exercise can help keep you young.  Take a break from work and do some squats or wall sits, or take a brisk walk.  It can improve your whole day.

4. Social interaction

Instead of scrolling aimlessly at night, reach out to a few people you care about.  Connecting with friends can raise your levels of the "feel-good" hormone oxytocin, which has anti-inflammatory effects.

5. Remember what matters.
