We had a chance to speak with our friend Harry Medved the spokesperson for The Cinema Foundation, for his thoughts on this year's Oscars. The Acadamy Awards are this Sunday night on ABC and Hulu.

Harry has been to the Oscars dozens of times over the years and has seen just about everything and every big-name star that you can think of. He has been backstage at the event to see what is going on and to see the reactions of both the winners and losers.

We had a chance to talk about who he thinks should win and those who will not. Harry is a big fan of the movie Anora and thinks that it will be the best picture winner. As far as the actors and actresses are concerned, he thinks it's Demi Moore's time to win an Oscar for her role in The Substance. Harry also thinks Timothee Chalamet has a great chance to win the best actor award for his role in A Complete Unkown

This has been a great year for Hollywood with a huge resurgence of people returning to the theaters after a few down years, certainly since the Covid shutdowns anyway.  One of the reasons for that was the massive blockbuster movie Wicked which has garnered over 700 million dollars world wide since it's release and that is not to mention that it is only part one.

Going to the movie theater is always a better experience for me than watching a movie on tv at home. The sound systems are so amazing these days that you can feel the soundtrack in your seat and your bones. Sure, it costs a little more to go to the movies, but it is definitely worth it at least a few times a year to get out of the house.

Harry Medved thinks that Americans are coming back to the theaters because it is and always be a great escape, and that after all is what the magic of Hollywood is all about.

Here's hoping your favorite wins this year!

Bob has been married for almost 25 years to Carolyn, a Woburn gal and they have 3 daughters, Nicole, Taylor, and Bridget. Bob and Carolyn are proud first-time grandparents to baby Caroline, who they plan to spoil every chance they get! “I started my career in New England and could not be happier to come back to Boston where I can root for all the Boston sports teams and eat lots of lobster rolls and clam chowder (okay not lots)… It is an honor to host the WROR morning show with LBF and wake up the World’s Greatest City!” Bob writes about recipes and restaurants, pop culture and trending topics.
