DM Disaster: Backyard Brawl

Today’s DM Disaster is Backyard Brawl. Steve shared a classic case of boys being boys gone totally off the rails. His lifelong dream was to build a full backyard hockey rink this winter, he spared no expenses, he had boards, lights, the works. It was supposed to be a fun, nostalgic way to get the guys together for some friendly games. Spoiler alert: it did not stay friendly.

Turns out, he and his buddies all played college hockey, which means the competitive fire never really died. A few games in, the intensity ramped up. Add a couple of frosty ones into the mix, and suddenly, it wasn’t just about having fun it was about winning. One hard check led to some chirping, and before he knew it, the whole thing turned into a full-on backyard brawl.

And as if that wasn’t bad enough, there’s an unspoken cold war among the guy’s awkward silence, bruised egos, and no real plan to make peace.
