You know that you can never go wrong with roses and a card, but it's the other stuff that is the hard part. Making sure that you don't get in a rut by getting the same thing over and over is key. Originality is really nice too but you want to make sure that it doesn't fall into the category of the worst Valentine's gifts or you might have a really bad night.
Making dinner reservations or preparing to have dinner at home is also crucial. It's always a great idea to make plans to go to hers and your favorite place, but you have to do it early or face going to a not so great place. Also, if you're planning on cooking dinner, make sure it's soup to nuts, with everything planned from an appetizer to the dessert. Oh, be honest about your cooking capabilities too, no body wants a burned to the crisp fillet
The 3 Best Valentine's Gifts
1. Watches. The site's expert says, "A watch represents the gift of time. By gifting a watch, you'd be promising your partner that you'll be present for them." Even in the age of Apple watches, there’s something special about a personalized gift that I watch can make. Even the symbolism of a nice watch says that she is who you want to spend time with.
2. Chocolate. "The gift of chocolate can be traced back to the Mayans, who viewed cacao, the main ingredient in chocolate, as a 'heart opener.'" Never believe it when a woman tells you she doesn’t want chocolate for Valentine’s Day. She might think she doesn’t, but the end of the day she will probably be looking for it.
3. Scarves. "They represent a strong spiritual connection. [They show] faith in the relationship and a desire to keep each other warm and protected." This one comes out of left field for most of us, but a nice scarf, accents an ensemble and can be a unique gift 5h5 she has never received.
And now the 3 Worst
1. Lingerie. The site's expert says, "Since underwear covers our most private areas, it represents a desire to hide something . . . your partner may be sending you the message that they are keeping something from you." Not sure I believe this to be the main reason women don’t like lingerie as a gift. The primary reason is that it’s more a gift for you than for her.
2. Alcohol. "The word alcohol comes from the Arabic word, Al-Kohl, which links to both early cosmetics and spirits. Ok, but the reason women typically don’t want it as a gift is because alcohol is too easy. Just because you know her favorite drink doesn’t mean she wants it as a gift. Unless it is part of a bigger presentation, of course. But never as a standalone.
3. Bath Salts. "Salt is a cleanser and a purifier, so the gift of bath salts will help rid the receiver of any negativity in a relationship. These are not as romantic as bath bombs or simple bath essentials, such as beads, etc. Nobody wants to luxuriate in a salt bath. First of all there are no bubbles and secondly it is not as soothing to the skin as essential oils.
so, as long as you stick to the top three presents for your sweetheart, you should be OK. Throw in dinner and a nice card and she will love you.
