Pilot Finally Gives Reason Why You Must Put Phone In Airplane Mode
A Delta pilot is going viral for explaining the real reason you can’t use your phone on a plane and why you have to put it in airplane mode. It won’t make you fall out of the sky or anything, but could mess with the pilot’s radio.
Let’s face it, there are so many things that we see and hear on a plane, there are all sorts of noises and commands from the pilots to the flight attendants that leave us with more questions than answers.
For instance, you will hear those distinctive little dings often on the plane and have no idea what they are for and should we be concerned.
The dings are actually signals to the flight attendants to either let them know that the plane is cleared for take off, to take their seats and when the plane has reached the desirable 10,000 feet.
Another thing that happens when you are at 10,000 feet is the pilots ring the bell, and that gives the flight attendants permission to allow the passengers to use their electronics. However, they prefer that you keep them in air plane mode.
people who were airline passengers back before the advent of all the electronics that we have today, remember, making sure to bring books and magazines for their flight. There used to be a magazine rack when you first boarded the plane that you could grab a handful to read while flying.
Back in the day before each seat had its own TV screen, there were 3 to 4 monitors that were dropped down in flight from the main aisle to show the movie selection for the flight. The flight attendants would hand out awkward and uncomfortable headphones that were basically placed inside your ear much like a doctor stethoscope.
