The famed Magic of Lights is back in Massachusetts, and it's actually at Gillette Stadium for the last time ever this season. This event has been taking place for the past few years at different locations throughout the U.S., so if you haven't experienced it yet, this is your chance.

Holiday Event Features Thousands of Lights

I’ve wanted to attend Magic of Lights for years now but haven’t made it out. I’m determined to do it this year. I’ve seen photos from the event before, and they look so magical. The entire area is filled with glowing holiday lights, and it’s just super festive. It’s a drive-through event, so you and your family are in your car and drive through the beautiful displays. It’s also one of the biggest events of its kind in the state. While many areas have this type of holiday event, Magic of Lights tends to hit bigger markets, so it packs more of a holiday punch.

According to the Magic of Lights website, the display is currently open at Gillette Stadium and runs through Christmas. It's closed on Dec. 1 for the Patriots game, though. The event is open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. If you’re looking for something to do on Christmas or Christmas Eve, it could make for a new tradition. Let’s face it, not much is open on Christmas Day, so this could be the perfect activity. Tickets are available now via their website.

As for what to expect, organizers explain that, "The Magic of Lights drive-through experience features dazzling, family-friendly holiday lights displays crafted using the latest in CAD technology and digital animations."

Last year’s event used roughly 10 miles of steel to build the displays and 10 miles of LED lighting installed inside the displays, there are 10 different colors of LED bulbs used in the shows. This year's event promises to be just as big and bright, so get your shades ready.

“Magic of Lights is a dazzling, drive-through holiday lights experience featuring favorite holiday scenes and characters of the season using the latest LED technology and digital animations,” they state. Some of the attractions include the 200-foot long Enchanting Tunnel of Lights, Candy Cane Lane, Toyland, 12 Days of Christmas and more. One really special addition is a "Prehistoric Christmas" featuring huge dinosaurs celebrating the holidays.
