Massachusetts Music Lovers #1 Concert Addicts In The U.S.
Massachusetts music lovers take the cake as the state with the biggest concert ticket addiction.
According to a new study by HelloTickets, a travel platform for experiences, Massachusetts residents search for concert tickets more than anywhere else in the country. They averaged a whopping 1,278 ticket-related searches per month for every 100,000 people.
That’s a lot of Massachusetts music lovers glued to their screens, hitting refresh on Ticketmaster.
But what artists have them in such a frenzy?
Taylor Swift reigns supreme, with over 300 monthly searches per 100k Massachusetts residents. Olivia Rodrigo and Morgan Wallen round out the top 3, proving the Bay State loves its pop, country, and everything in between.
New York and New Jersey aren’t far behind, coming in at #2 and #3 on the desperate-for-tickets list. But while Taylor is the top draw in Massachusetts, the Empire State seems to be all about Drake. “Drake concert” was the most popular search term in New York.
And the live music cravings aren’t just an East Coast thing. California, Colorado, and Nevada all cracked the top 10 most ticket-hungry states. The Golden State even hosted the most concerts from the artists analyzed, with 129 shows between 2023-2024.
But before you go rushing to snap up tickets, HelloTickets CEO Jorge Díaz Largo warns fans to stay vigilant. “The more desperate people are to see their favorite artists, the easier it is for scammers to exploit that urgency,” he says.
So Massachusetts locals, your music addiction is showing.
But keep an eye out for ticket resale scams, and maybe give your refresh finger a rest every once in a while. Live shows will be here before you know it.
