The holidays are just around the corner, which is really exciting for the people who LOVE holiday gatherings. For those that don't, this is probably the most stressful time of the year, because for the next few weeks you can expect to attend at least a couple of them.

With the economy being as troubled as it has been it probably means there will be fewer holiday gatherings at work. There was a time when you could expect your company to rent a hotel room and go all out with a big holiday party. As a former "mobile d.j." I would host as many as a dozen office parties during the Christmas season.

These days it would be a lot less if I were still in that business because office holiday parties are becoming like everything else, downsized. If you're company still has parties, as ours still does, it's probably a low key holiday gathering. Still worth going to for the opportunity to bond with co-workers in an out of office setting and get you into the holiday spirit.

The survey says!

Of course, there are also people who are secretly hoping that there's another pandemic or something so they can just stay home . . . watch TV . . . and drink their own booze on their own couch.

According to a new survey, Americans may be getting TIRED of holiday gatherings.  The average person is planning to attend THREE big social events this year, which is down from FIVE last year.

Most people are still planning on Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners . . . but fewer people are doing get-togethers for Friendsgiving and New Year's Eve.

And many people are FINE with this:  Only 36% of people say they wish they were attending MORE gatherings this year, compared to 62% last year.

If you're invited to a holiday gathering, why not say yes and show up for it, you mind find yourself having a great time.
