Boston has ranked as the third biggest dog-loving city in the U.S., with over 690,000 dog-related Instagram posts.

It's official.

Bostonians can’t get enough of sharing snapshots of their four-legged friends online.

The team at Level Frames recently dug into Instagram data to find out which U.S. cities are the most dog-obsessed. They looked at how often people are posting about their pets to see where America’s most dog-friendly communities are. Boston’s rank means we’re sharing about 10,676 dog pics for every 10,000 residents!

So what is the most dog-loving city?

Buffalo, New York, took the top spot, with 498,005 dog-related posts and an impressive 18,194 posts per 10,000 residents. Buffalo’s parks, like Wilkeson Pointe Park and Eternal Flame Falls, make perfect backdrops for pet pictures. Seattle, Washington, snagged second with a whopping 1 million+ dog posts (that’s 13,733 per 10,000 people!) and iconic spots like Washington Park Arboretum to snap those adorable pics.

As for Boston, we’re just as enthusiastic. The city has its own fantastic places for pet photo ops. You’ll find plenty of dogs soaking up the sun at Rexhame Beach, and, on any given weekend, you can spot pups sailing along the Charles River Esplanade. Boston’s love for pets is more than just online fun—it’s part of the city’s culture.

Other dog-loving cities include Pittsburgh, Miami, and Charleston, proving that there’s no shortage of dog pride across the country. Whether they’re posting pics from the beach, the park, or even on city strolls, Americans everywhere are showing off their pups with pride!

So, congratulations Boston —one of the top dog-loving cities in the nation.
