End of life care giver Marie Curie has compiled what it describes as the first playlist curated by people at the end of life and what songs are most favored for their funeral. By polling bereaved relatives on the subject. 'Music can help people express their feelings and make them feel better, whatever their health or emotional situation.'

What is it about planning our funeral that some people throw themselves into so much? Not everyone wants to spend a lot of their time alive planning out their eventual passing, but for those that do, the devil is in the details. (Pardon the pun)

People like to plan their funeral from what they would like to wear, to what food will be served following it and of course, they want to plan the playlist as well.

Here are the Top 5 Funeral Songs

5. Girls Just Want To Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper: What does this say about the deceased? Umm they want the funeral to be a lighter affair without too many tears being shed. It certainly will make people happier knowing that they want the bereaved to have a good time and to be remembered for how they lived, not died

4. Over The Rainbow - Judy Garland: This is a classic choice and sure to evoke feelings and memories of the deceased while still having a positive outlook. The thought of rainbows also give the living feelings of hope and warmth

3. Simply The Best - Tina Turner: More of a statement on how the deceased felt about their surviving friends and family at the funeral. It's their way of saying, "don't worry about me, my life was simply the best and you were all a part of it.

2. I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston: The sentiment here is more for the guests as well. The deceased is laying it all there with this song, they loved you and want you to know it. The passion that Whitney sings with will be conveyed to all exactly how they felt about their loved ones

1. My Way - Frank Sinatra: When you choose the Chairman of the Board to sing you out, you are making a statement for all to hear. You lived your life the way you wanted to with all the good and bad that made you who you are. It also says, you lived life without regrets, so don't be sad, they did it their way.
