If you travel for business or pleasure, then you might agree with this astounding survey regarding how people sleep in their hotel room versus how they do in their own bedroom. there are a lot of different reasons why, perhaps it’s just a better bed then when you have at home. Maybe it’s a darker and more secluded room than what you are used to at home.

One thing is for sure, if you are staying in a quality hotel, you are paying for quality sleep and you surely want your moneys worth. Is there anything worse than paying a lot of money for a hotel with a terrible bed and bedding?

Would you be starting the week with more pep in your step if you set your bedroom up like a HOTEL ROOM?  A poll found 73% of people sleep better in hotels, so Lifehacker.com did a list of four ways to make your bedroom feel more like one.  The first one is pricy, but the rest aren't too hard . . .

Here are four ways to make your bedroom as cozy as a hotel room.

1.  Upgrade your bedding.  Even mid-tier hotels have high-end mattresses.  The pillows, sheets, and duvets are also high-quality.  A lot of hotels sell that stuff now, or they'll at least tell you which brands they use. Shop at places like Home Sense or Home Goods and even Marshall’s for deals on quality bedding.

2.  Make your bedroom darker.  Even if you turn on every light in a hotel room, they're typically pretty dark.  Less light tends to equal better sleep, so they usually have blackout curtains too. The darker the room, the better the sleep.

3.  Cool the room down.  The ideal temperature for sleep is cooler than you think, around 65 degrees.  That's one reason hotel rooms are so cold. Most of us sleep better when it’s not to hot and we’re throwing our bedding of us.

4.  Keep your bedroom clean.  Studies have shown filth and clutter have a negative impact on sleep.  Hotel rooms are cleaned regularly, and they always make the bed. There’s nothing better than a clean bedroom and just as important, clean quality sheets and pillows…Happy sleeping!
