Apple Rolling Out iPhone 16 Line, ‘Apple Intelligence’ AI Features
Artificial intelligence tools are taking over almost everything, and Apple products are no exception. The company announced its new “Apple Intelligence” AI features, and a new batch of iPhone 16 models coming to market soon.
The new products were announced during Apple’s “Glowtime” event streamed Monday afternoon. Along with the iPhones and AI features, a new version of Apple Watch, new AirPods, and new health features for multiple products.
Apple Intelligence AI Features
The biggest news of the day comes in the way of artificial intelligence. Or “Apple Intelligence,” as the company is calling it.
The new tool will be integrated into new iPhone and Mac platforms, and will allow you to do things like rewrite emails, create emojis, clean up photos, and make videos from your photos.
You’ll also be able to record and transcribe phone calls into a Notes file, and you’ll be able to get an automatic summary of that phone call.
Apple Intelligence will be available in a free update for iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max owners in October. But it’s a built-in feature for the new versions of the iPhone.
iPhone 16 Models Unveiled
The newest versions of the iPhone have been rethought, with a focus on integration of the Apple Intelligence features.
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models do all the expected things and have improved cameras, processors, and battery life. Same for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max (but on a much bigger scale).
“iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus mark the beginning of a new era for iPhone with Apple Intelligence delivering powerful, personal, and private experiences to our users,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing in a release. “With new ways to discover the world around you and capture memories using Camera Control; a 48MP Fusion camera that gives you two optical-quality cameras in one; a big boost in battery life; and powerful, efficient performance thanks to the A18 chip, this is the perfect time for customers to upgrade or make the switch to iPhone.”
All of that comes in the new models, which will arrive on Friday, September 20. Pre-orders start on Friday, September 13.
Apple Watch, AirPods and More
If you’re into wearing your Apple devices, the newest version of Apple Watch Series 10 will be lighter, faster and brighter.
The watch will start at $399 and will also be available on September 20.
The new watches will also have tools that can help to detect possible sleep apnea, and other health concerns. Notably, the AirPods Pro will also have a hearing aid feature.
And for those who love AirPods, the new Series 4 model will be the “most comfortable ever,” according to Apple.
Major audio quality improvements are also in store, and will start at $129. Noise-cancelling versions will start at $179.
Last – but not least depending on your perspective – Apple announced the new AirPods Max versions. The over-the-hear high-end headphones start at $549, and have new colors – orange, starlight and purple.
