This Is the #1 Way To Celebrate Cinco De Mayo
Cinco De Mayo Just Got Sweeter!
Ice cream fans nationwide were left reeling in June 2022 when Klondike dropped the bombshell that their beloved Choco Taco, a favorite for nearly four decades, was no more.
But hold onto your sweet tooth, because a tasty twist on this classic is making a comeback—and it’s not where you’d expect.
Say hello to Cold Stone Creamery’s latest creation: the Waffle Ice Cream Taco, set to hit stores just in time for Cinco de Mayo on April 30.
We’re psyched!
Imagine a taco-shaped waffle cone filled with creamy Sweet Cream Ice Cream, coated in chocolate, and sprinkled with crunchy peanuts—sounds irresistible, right?
But here’s the scoop: these mouthwatering treats won’t stick around forever. You’ve got until May 5 to grab one before they vanish from the menu. However, if history repeats itself, there’s a chance they might make a triumphant return down the line.
Now, Cold Stone isn’t the only player in town celebrating Cinco De Mayo
Other fast-food joints are putting their spin on the Choco Taco’s legacy.
At Taco Bell’s Live Más Live event in Las Vegas back in February, they teamed up with Portland’s Salt & Straw to unveil their own creation: the Ice Cream Chocolate Taco. Picture a hand-pressed waffle cone filled with zesty cinnamon ancho chili ice cream, dunked in rich chocolate, and finished with toasted brown rice. Plus, it comes with a tangy cheesecake dip and three unique sauces for an extra kick.
But here’s the catch: it might be a while before you can sink your teeth into one of these tantalizing treats. So, for now, we’ll just have to dream about the day when we can indulge in these treats.
So if you’re celebrating Cinco De Mayo with chips, dip and a few margaritas, you can top the whole celebration off with an ice cream taco. Let’s hope they stay on the menu for a while, or definitely come back next year.
