Sauna In The City: Boston is Now Home To The Steamiest Attraction
The Winter Sauna Village hosted by Moki Sauna is now open on The Greenway at the corner of High St and Atlantic Ave across from the Boston Harbor Hotel.
Yup. Now you can enjoy a relaxing health and wellness experience, complete with a cold plunge, wood-fired saunas, changing rooms, rinsing stations, and a relaxation hut with locker storage. Each reservation comes with a towel and flip flop reservation.
“There’s a lot of amazing benefits,” Mark Peloquin with Moki Sauna told WCVB.com “I think it starts with the cardiovascular. It opens up a lot of blood flow.”
Truth.
Saunas and ice baths are like the peanut butter and jelly the wellness world – both are good, but together? Come on. Perfection!
First up, saunas.
Picture this: you’re sweating like you just ran a marathon, but you’re sitting comfortably. Saunas have been around for centuries, dating back to those clever Finns who figured out that getting hot and steamy was the key to relaxation. Fast forward to today, and we’re still cranking up the heat for the health benefits.
Saunas aren’t just for show.
They’re like a magic potion for your body. The heat increases your heart rate, improving blood circulation and giving your heart a little workout without breaking a sweat. Plus, it’s the ultimate detox – you’ll be sweating out toxins like a sauna superhero.
Now, let’s talk about ice baths.
Ever taken a plunge into freezing water and felt like you could conquer the world afterward? That’s the power of the ice bath. It’s the chilly sidekick to the sauna’s warmth. Athletes swear by it for muscle recovery, reducing inflammation, and feeling like an ice-cool boss.
History lesson alert! Ice baths have been a thing since ancient civilizations dipped into icy rivers for a refreshing shock. Fast forward to today, and we’ve got fancy ice baths that make you feel like Elsa from Frozen – minus the singing (unless you’re into that).
So, there you have it – the dynamic duo of wellness.
Saunas and ice baths: one brings the heat, the other brings the chill, and together they make you feel like a health superhero.
Reservations are recommended – make one at mokisauna.com. Limited walk-ins are available based on availability.
The sauna is scheduled to be open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. through April.
