Donnie Wahlberg Has Belichick’s Back
In the final weeks of what could be the end of the New England career of one of football’s most successful coach’s, an unlikely star has emerged in his defense. Donnie Wahlberg has Belichick’s back.
This season, Patriots Nation has had it rough. With a dismal 3-11 record, our New England sports self esteem as crumbled. The once prestigious New England Patriots are now the embarrassment of the NFL. Week after week, the fumbles and interceptions had become a symbolic metaphor of a team that’s broken. Rather than the Super Bowl hopes of the old days of Tom Brady, we can only hope that this ridiculous losing season can give us first pick draft hopes for next year.
Do We Blame Bill Belichick?
What’s made this period in our sport’s life difficult is who to blame. Of course the first natural place to point is to the top. After multiple seasons of losses, is it time to replace Bill? Along with that question, comes another. Should he deserve respect and gratitude from Patriots Nation for TWENTY seasons of glory?
Throwing Bill under the bus feels like bad mouthing an uncle who has been the backbone of a family for a lifetime.
If you disagree, you may have to face Donnie Wahlberg. The New England actor and music star had his say in the Boston Herald saying Belichick is still the goat, and deserves our respect forever. In an opinion piece called Hold Your Fire, Wahlberg says what many may be thinking:
Does any affordable human being on the planet actually imagine that Brady, or Belichick, gained six rings with out Ty Law, Willie McGinest, Tedy Bruschi, Matt Light, Vince Wilfork, Corey Dillon, Devin McCourty, Stephon Gilmore, Julian Edelman or essentially the most clutch kicker in historical past, Adam Vinatieri?
Donnie Wahlberg Has Belichick’s Back
Donnie’s sentiments reveal, while Brady deserves a lot of the credit, it was the team that gave us the glory, with Belichick’s and Kraft’s leadership at the helm. Will history agree?
