Breaking NEWS! The CBS Sports TOP football team of Jim Nantz and Tony Romo have been reassigned to the PATRIOTS this weekend. Why?
With the Pats dismal 1-4 record and the Raiders 2-3, we can all see that it's NOT the Game of The Week. Nantz and former Dallas Cowboys football QB Romo are normally reserved to cover only the top teams. Hard core fans are scratching their heads, wondering why the switch? What does CBS know?
-Is the Patriots shakeup many are asking for about to happen? Does CBS want to be there covering the glorious breaking news?
-Is Bill Belichick now dating Taylor Swift?
-Will this weekend's game against the Raiders be Bill's final chance?
Super Bowl LVIII
Sports insiders are not as conspiratorial as I am.
This weekends' Pats Raiders game will take place at the Raiders home turf, Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, which is the host stadium for Super Bowl LVIII February 11, 2024.
CBS Sports is ALSO the host network for the big game, and of course the A Team of Nance and Romo will be in the glorious TV booth for all of the exciting coverage.
According to awfulannouncing.com, there maybe a practical reason for the flip:
"CBS is broadcasting the big game this year, which means Nantz and Romo will be the ones to call it. Whenever possible, if the network calling the Super Bowl can get its broadcasting team in that stadium for a “practice run” during the regular season, they try to do it."
But wait, doesn't the NFL know WAY in advance where the Super Bowl will be played? Of course, they do. Why does CBS need a last minute "run though" at a field they broadcast from all the time? Well isn't that an awfully convenient excuse, to put the CBS Broadcast A team right in the epicenter of the most talked about coach this season when something MAY go down.
Well, it could be nothing more than a previously scheduled run through for Jim Nantz and Tony Romo. Hey, it's not like CBS Sports has YEARS of experience broadcasting from football stadiums. One can wonder. Could the Pats LOSING streak be a winner for CBS Sports?
Maybe it really IS the Game Of The Week.
It's one thing when you lose the media, and sports talk radio. But are fans now saying it's time for a major Patriots shakeup? Patriots nation has been patient.
After all it was over THREE years ago we said goodbye to Tom Brady. So you can't expect to recover from that massive loss in just one season, maybe two. We all know how our loss was Tampa Bay's gain.
But three years later, our situation has not improved. In fact, it has gotten much, much worse.
The Stats
Even as early as Monday afternoon, fan disappointment has hit fever pitch, saying the problem is at the top: Bill Belichick. According to athlonsports.com, fans want Bill out:
Even ESPN's Stephen A. Smith believes it's time for Robert Kraft to have a tough talk with Belichick.
"If I'm Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots, I'd call Bill Belichick ... and here's what I'd tell him. 'You are no longer the GM ... for this franchise. You can coach, but that's it,'" Smith said on Monday morning.
This report comes after the the Patriots fell to the Saints 34-0 on Sunday. A week prior New England lost to the Cowboys 38-3. Those are the two worst losses of Belichick's career. Add to that, it was not just that we were playing tremendous teams. The Saints are 3 and 2, were flagged 14 times on Sunday and had a terrible loss at home last weekend.
Loyalty Vs Reality
Fans and media types alike are pinching themselves coming to this sad conclusion. NO one ever thought Patriots Nation would be in this position. How can the team that gave us YEARS of glorious victories now be facing this unreal path? The Patriots under the Kraft, Belichick, Brady leadership gave us SIX Super Bowl rings. Oh, wait, what's missing from the trio of names NOW?
It is now becoming apparent that after waiting three patient years, was it Tom Brady's immense skill the secret to the Patriot's enormous success? Many are calling for the removal of Bill as the team general manager, putting the responsibility of choosing players in the hands of someone else. Is a MAJOR Patriots shakeup eminent?
We are 1-4. If there ISN'T a change, could it get worse? There are 13 weeks left. THAT's an unlucky number.
What are fans saying and the media saying?
What Is The Media Saying?
The media is calling for a major change. It's no longer "wait and see."
Brady Should Get More Credit?
Now the media is saying Brady the secret.
Ouch
New England sports fans have had enough.
Not The Hashtag We Want To See
This is the hashtag that has taken over X on Monday.
Is It Mac Jones Fault?
It seems like Mac Jones name is invisible through out this ordeal.
