Celebrity Bartender Mark Wahlberg Opens New Boston Bar
Welcome to Hollywood east, as A-List celebrity bartender Mark Wahlberg opens a new Boston bar.
One of the coolest things about our great city, there’s always an A-lister actor or athlete hanging around.
Each football season, we’ll see the classic camera shot of Jon Bon Jovi with his pal Bob Kraft in his suite at Gillette. A few years back as I was walking IN to the Capitol Grille on Boylston. I noticed an amazing black Mercedes Benz parked right out front, guarded by a valet attendant. I have never seen a Mercedes like this. It had scissor-style wing doors that opened UPWARD.
So, of course, I had to ask the valet attendant, “whose car is this?” He said: “that guy behind you.” RIGHT behind me leaving the restaurant was Bruins star Patrice Bergeron. It was his car! Patrice and his team mate Brad Marchand just had finished a big bone-in ribeye and drove off.

At the very top of the Boston A-listers is Mark Wahlberg, who lent his status at the grand opening of Moxies in the Seaport District. Boston 25 was there and Mark wasn’t the only celebrity:
Dorchester’s own hung out at Moxies newest location in the city’s Seaport District with other local celebrities including Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon, Bruins forward Milan Lucic, NHL veteran enforcer and former Bruin Shawn Thornton, and Bruins president Cam Neely. Moxie’s officially opens at 899 Congress Street on Oct. 5.
Did you know that Mark was pouring his own cocktail? It’s called The Marky Marg. It’s a pineapple basil-based margarita made with Flecha Azul Blanco Tequila. Why THAT brand of Tequila? He’s an investor in the brand. I’m still stuck on the pineapple-basil. Hey, anything named a Marky Marg, has to be good.
