NFL Investigates Mac Jones: The Secret In The Sause?

When you see a headline like: NFL Investigates Mac Jones, you say WHOA...tap the breaks!

What did he do? Is it Deflate gate? Yes, as Patriots fans, we have ALL been through enough investigations for TEN seasons. Who can forget Tom Brady's four week suspension during the Deflate Gate era? But, one may ask, what IS this about? If you got caught up in the Taylor Swift spotting at the Chiefs game, you could have missed this during the Jets game, this past Sunday.

Why Are They Investigating Mac Jones?

As always, there are TWO sides to this story. It starts with Jet's player Sause Gardner alleging that Mac Jones delivered a shot to the groin, of Gardner during Sunday's game. NESN.com reports:

Jones initially was body-slammed to the turf by linebacker C.J. Mosley after he tried to fight through the whistle for extra yardage. Garner claimed Jones delivered a shot to his groin as he got to his feet, which prompted the 2022 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year to shove the QB back down.

There are a few camera angles that are being shared on social media, but it's not clear what really happened. Gardner shared this on his social calling it evidence:

Here's a closer angle:

According to our sister station The Sports Hub, sports writer Matt Dolloff says that Mac is no stranger to getting fined for his field antics:

In all seriousness, Jones’ reputation preceded him even before this thing. He had a leg-grabbing incident with the Panthers’ Brian Burns in his rookie year, then got fined $13,367 for a low hit on cornerback Eli Apple last season.

When asked, Mac denied any wrong doing.

Dolloff writes that it would be funny to imagine as the NFL investigates Mac Jones.

Imagine league commish Roger Goodell having to take three hours of meetings watching videos from every angle to come to a decision, if in fact this actually gets to his desk. I agree, that is funny to imagine. "Ok, let's recreate this, Harry stand here....ready...tell me if this hurts."

Why did football fans slam the Jets over a LAME paint job? It seems that the only points the Jets are scoring is bad luck.

It's tough enough that they lost their star quarterback Aaron Rodgers due to an injury moments into the 2023 season. Add to that, Sunday at HOME, the Jets lost to our Patriots, 15-10. Before we address the lame paint job, let's look at their rocky start. You know you're having a bad week when Jets legend Broadway Joe Namath has chimed in:

Yahoo Sports reports this about Jets quarterback Zach Wilsons bumpy ride:

Wilson's nightmares against New England continued in the first half of Week 3: He completed just 5 of 10 passes for 29 yards and took two sacks for a combined loss of 19 yards, as the Jets entered the locker room with just 39 total yards of offense and three first downs.

Namath shares more after Wilson spiked the ball on a third and 22.

Can it get worse? CBS Sports caught a fan SO mad, he lost more than his temper:

Jets End Zone Paint Job

Fans noticed a fitting, awkward beginning to Sundays Jets game against the Pats. According to Sports Illustrated:

NFL fans ripped the Jets on Sunday ahead of their matchup against the Patriots at MetLife Stadium once those in attendance noticed the team’s end zone was so poorly painted that white footprints could be seen, presumably from whoever painted the area.

At Met Life Stadium, maybe because of the rain, as more and more players ran into the end zone, more and more white footprints began to emerge. Is it the worse, most terrible thing that could happen? Of course not. But, it's just another odd, unfortunate event, in a sequence of events that continue to plague the New York Jets.

If we dare, let's take a look at how did fans slam the Jets.

Footprints 1

Except some weird national press from Sports Illustrated.

Footprints 2

Well it really isn't worse. At least we got someone's feet in the end zone. The next time, it just needs to put points on the board.

Cue "Footprints In The Sand"

With the Pats 0-2 record, maybe THEY were carried by Jesus.

Not Footprints, Tears?

Let's See This Guy Again

This guy is so mad. I wonder if he could be a former Red Sox fan.
