Kevin Bacon Connecticut Farmhouse: it was haunted. It sounds like a plotline for a new podcast.

Well the iconic actor actually shared this weird story on a recent podcast.

Kevin Bacon is no stranger to social media. His almost famous playing with goats videos has amassed millions of views.

Most recently he stunned a Billy Joel audience making a guest appearance on stage toting a guitar, and playing with the piano man himself.

Just this past weekend he debuted in the new Marvel Comics super hero, comedy horror movie, Toxic AvengerBacon stars along with Game Of Thrones star Peter Dinklage. Dinklage plays Winston, a down and out janitor. After his employer denies him needed medical coverage, he decides to steal money from the boss. In the process, Winston falls in some toxic waste and yes, becomes a superhero. This should be fun, because Bacon, plays the villain.

Let's hope he plays it OVER THE TOP.

So yes, Kevin Bacon knows how to remain relevant and stay working. But in a recent podcast, he shares a scare at home, that was NOT a movie.

Kevin Bacon Connecticut Farmhouse: It Was Haunted

On the recent podcast with actor Rob Lowe, Bacon shared the story of the time he purchased farmland in Connecticut. As part of the deal, the owner insisted that an abandoned house on the land was haunted. The spooked owner went on to say that if Bacon did not destroy the house, it would cause damage to Bacon his family. Bacon said:

The owner believed the house, which he grew up in, was haunted due to it reportedly being near a site where a Native American was killed by a colonial soldier during the 1700s. Bacon said that he and the owner came to a contractual agreement that he would destroy the house within a month of owning it.

Ok, right there, that would be enough for ME to exit the deal. But not Kevin Bacon. He doesn't believe in ghosts. He believes in goats.

So you're looking for the scariest haunted houses in New England, huh? Or maybe you want to kick it up a notch and see where the scariest haunted houses in America are. We have you covered on both fronts below.

I think it's a fascinating thing to see hordes of people come together at night to dish out money to be scared to the point of losing control of pitches of shrieks or even worse, control of bodily functions (yuck). Have you ever wondered why we do this? What those who love getting scared terribly get out of the whole situation? Dr. Olubunmi Olatunji, who is a leading psychology professor at Vanderbilt University, says that scary or thrilling experiences release dopamine into the brain. Some enjoy this feeling, those are us thrill-seekers. Some don't, you probably don't see them running the haunted house circuit for thrills.

The professional American haunt industry is a multibillion-dollar business with nearly 2,000 haunts open each year and over 12,000,000 customers attending those attractions. So to say that Halloween season haunted houses are big business would be an understatement.

Now that we understand the why's of the enjoyment of getting scared, let's look at the WHERE.

These are the 7 scariest haunted houses in New England. Some might be a lengthy road trip but if you're a scare or thrill fanatic, the tank of gas to get there might be worth it. We'll finish off by giving you the 3 scariest haunted houses in the entire country. These would be loooooonnnnnggg road trips.

In addition to the 7 haunted houses we'll obviously give you the address to punch into your GPS or phone and a quick little blurb on each place - plus links when available so you can go get all the info about each place that you can handle.
