Massachusetts Gets “Friends” Themed Coffee House
Now we can be just like Ross, Rachel, Monica, Joey and Phoebe, as Massachusetts gets our own Friends themed coffee house.
Sitting around, drink coffee and wonder if life could be better.
Watching streaming repeats of Friends reminds me how funny that show really was. It was based on the real life friendships of producers, Kevin S. Bright, Marta Kauffman and David Crane. The trio, like the TV Friends, would chum around together, contemplating growing up, getting married, having kids, and getting old.
The One That Heckles Dies
The one thing I noticed on Friends, is that no one ever died. Imagine what a serious turn that show would have taken if we had lost, let’s say Monica to a serious illness. Well check that, no one that was important to the story ever died. In one episode, the down stairs neighbor Mr. Heckles, dies and sadly leaves everything to his only Friends, living upstairs. That episode had a serious moment when Chandler realized that he was on the path to becoming Heckles. Possibly being alone, to the end. But thankfully, by the last show, we know how his new life, begins.
“Friends” Themed Coffee House
According to WCVB, we are getting our very own version of Central Perk, the one fictional famous Friends coffee house, in the Back Bay:
“With a menu that boasts a wide variety of tasty coffee and food options, in a setting that is modern yet reminiscent of the familiar coffeehouse from the beloved TV show. The soul of Central Perk remains intact, promising an unparalleled dining and coffee experience for locals and visitors alike.”
You can order Joey’s Meatball sandwich, and even Rachels Side Salad, all while sitting on the now iconic, orange couch.
The press release was issued by Warner Brothers, the production company that created Friends. Central Perk Coffee Co. will open a store on Newbury Street, located between Exeter and Fairfield Streets, will open next month.
I can’t promise if we’ll get our version of Phoebe singing Smelly Cat. One can only hope.
