Massachusetts United Customers Are Richer, NOW

It sounds like an ad, or a gimmick. But it’s true. If you’re a flyer out of Logan, or anywhere, United customers are richer, NOW, with a 30,000 mile apology….

United Customers Are Richer

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – MARCH 13: A United Airlines plane takes off from San Francisco International Airport on March 13, 2023 in San Francisco, California. It sounds like an ad, or a gimmick. But it's true. If you're a flyer out of Logan, or anywhere, United customers are richer, NOW, with a 30,000 mile apology.

Flyers and their airlines have had a rough time, for awhile now. Why? Is it the weather? Not as much as you would think! First, it's Covid-19, then rising prices, thanks to higher fuel costs, then add in staff shortages. Then, outdated computer problems became famous last December.

Happy Southwest Christmas!

Last Winter, DURING the December holiday, Southwest Airlines encountered a business and PR disaster, when their now famous computer meltdown canceled 16,700 flights, and worse, stranding 2 MILLION passengers between December 20 to December 29. This meltdown could be one of the most famous travel nightmares in recent memory. It got SO bad for Southwest, CONGRESS got involved. They DID apologize and promised this would be fixed. It seems like they did fix it, for now!

AAA July 2023

According to AAA's seasonal reports: around 50.7 million Americans were projected to travel 50 or more miles from home this 4th of July weekend, according to a report by AAA. Those travel metrics would break the previous Independence Day weekend record set in 2019 of 49 million travelers, AAA said.

United Airline Woes

United seems to be the new Southwest, with a host of cancelations that will make your turbines spin. But things seem to be getting better. Reports say they had only 50 cancellations over the July 4th weekend.

According to AP:

United CEO Scott Kirby laid out steps to avoid a repeat of last week, including reducing flights at its hub airport in Newark, New Jersey, and improving its crew-scheduling system. Kirby said over the weekend that United is working with regional authorities to get more gates at the airport but will need to reduce its schedule there to create more of a buffer, especially during thunderstorm season.

Fox News Business is reporting that United want's to give back to their customers for their enduring patience, with 30,000 FREE complementary miles.

United Airlines said in a July 1 email obtained by FOX Business that the free Mileage Plus miles it was giving affected customers and each other person on their flight reservation could go toward "flights, Wi-Fi, onboard food and drinks, seat upgrades and more."

According to Fox:

The complementary miles were offered to travelers who had to deal with getting delayed to the following day or never arriving at their final destination as part of a flight scheduled between June 24-30, according to United.

United in a surprise response to the delays gave some of the blame to FAA, due their lack of staffing to handle the major storms that they recently have experienced. The FAA put out this Tweet:

United customers are richer, now! If you were affected while traveling June 24-30, reach out to your United agent to get your 30,000 free miles!

Feeling lucky? Are you a gambler? Maybe you want to take a ride to your local casino. Here in Massachusetts there are a few like Encore Boston Harbor, Plainridge Park and MGM Springfield where you can press your luck. But maybe you don’t want to take a ride several miles to win some money. The key to winning some serious cash is right down the street at your local convenience store.

Scratch tickets are all the rage here in Massachusetts. Back in 2020, we spent the most money out of any state in the country on lottery tickets. The average lottery player in Massachusetts spent about $1000 annually on tickets. That’s about $300 more than any state. What if you knew going into that store which lottery ticket was going to win? That may take the fun out of gambling but you’d be more apt to buy said ticket correct? Well that answer is right at the click of a button. The Massachusetts state lottery has a website where they literally put the odds of winning on each ticket. Knowing this information should make you better informed before buying your next ticket. That is, if you want to win.

They also have a section that tells you which tickets have their top prizes already claimed. So that means, it also tells you which prizes are still available. This should make your next scratch ticket purchase that much easier. So not only have we helped you out in finding which scratch tickets have the best odds of winning but we're also helping you by letting you know which ones have the biggest amount of prizes still available. Choose wisely!

Oh and as always, we'll never ask you for a cut WHEN you win (LOL). May the odds forever be in your favor! Good luck.
