No more loafing around!

A few weeks ago my wife and I purchased a small backyard shed to store our “outdoor “ tools.  You know, lawnmowers, wheelbarrows, leaf blowers and various other tools that can take over your garage or basement if you don’t have a garage.

Shed location
Prep the shed

We ordered an 8x10 foot shed, big enough for all of our stuff and not so bigthat you could list it on AirB&B as a tiny house. The shed needed a 10x12 lot dug three inches deep and covered with 3/4 inch stone for it to sit on and not sink into the ground.

No loafing!

I was excited to start digging the process and immediately went to work when we got home. I grabbed my wheelbarrow and a spade shovel and headed out to the designated shed location.

Not dressed for the job

When my wife came out to check out the progress I was making, she noticed that I was wearing an old pair of loafers and not work boots.
She asked why I chose the loafers? I said, “honey, I don’t have work boots”.  This came as a surprise to her.

Happy Father’s Day Bob!

It became quite obvious to her what to buy me for Father’s Day. After all what husband worth his salt does not own a decent pair of work boots? The last pair I had was probably five or six years ago. And they were worn out after many years of intense backyard labor. Of course let me be the judge of that.

My loafers got the boot!

New boots

These boots were made for working!

So, you guessed it this Father’s Day I received a brand new pair of Carhartt work boots and I couldn’t be happier! It’s funny because when I told my on their partner LBF what I got for Father’s Day she said “if my husband bought me work boots for Mother’s Day I would lose my mind and he might lose something else!”

I can’t be the only guy without work boots

I love my new work boots and quite honestly I’m almost afraid to use them because they are so nice. But I promised myself and my wife that I will not let them sit in the closet in their box forever I will use them as soon as the next project comes up. As I look out the backyard and see trees that should be trimmed or cut down I know what I need to do. Break out the boots
