Lightning Strikes Spencer Church, Explodes In Flames
Breaking:
Lightning Strikes Spencer church. It was ALMOST, in my backyard. As Summer humidity in Spencer strikes, it was followed by the usual thunderstorms. What was NOT usual, was that lightning stuck a 160 year old Main Street church in downtown Spencer, Massachusetts, exploding it into flames.
These are pictures taken from my DECK, late Friday afternoon. The third picture was taken from Main Street in Spencer.
WCVB reports:
SPENCER, Mass. —
Firefighters were battling a five-alarm fire inside a church in Spencer, Massachusetts that the pastor believes may have been caused by a lightning strike.
The first photos from the scene showed smoke and flames coming from the tall steeple structure at the front of the First Congregational United Church on Main Street.
It seems that as of this report, no one was injured.
