Sullivan's Castle Island in Southie has been a family favorite for generations. People from all over New England have come here for the food, the view and frankly because it's a New England seasonal tradition. Spring brings all the feels and all the fried clams! It's such a popular place that it has expanded to a few locations. Sullivan's Castle Island in Hanover is now serving your favorite iconic food in Hanover.
As many young families move out of South Boston and Dorchester to the more spacious South Shore suburbs, Sullivan's followed. According to their website, owner Dan Sullivan Sr. opened Sullivan's Castle Island in June of 1951 as a concession stand. He wanted to "provide quality food at reasonable prices in a family friendly atmosphere to those enjoying leisure time on the 22-acre recreation site, now operated as a state park." Brendan Sullivan is a third generation owner and was recently on hand at Sullivan's Castle Island Hanover Crossing for the opening of the new location. He told the Patriot Ledger, "It’s the same hamburgers, the same hot dogs, the same clams, the same rolls. It’s the same stuff. Keep it simple,”
The new space is located at 1775 Washington St Suite 410, at Hanover Crossing. There is still a quick service counter to help you get your food fast, but there is also a full sized bar and plenty of tables where you can sit. You will get that old sentimental feeling in some of the art work, and of course the food. The new Hanover Sullivan's Castle Island is also next door to a theater. There is one other location. It's a walk-up window located at TD Garden's Hub Hall.
