Last year, after months of cabin fever thanks to Covid 19 in 2020, we needed a trip. Heidi and I decided to take the drive North to famous Salem Massachusetts to see what everyone was talking about. It was the History & Hauntings of Salem Guided Walking Tour.
Watching the delightful Disney movie Hocus Pocus filmed right in Salem, didn’t hurt either. Heidi, as always mapped out the entire day, scouting out the Hocus Pocus movie locations in advance, and then mapping them out for our journey. We took complete with a picture for every stop, which you’ll see below. What we DIDN’T know was this. Did you know that we had one of the best history tours in the world right in our own back yard? Trip Advisor just awarded the tour the #4 BEST TOUR in THE WORLD!
Halloween
Needless to say, the best time to visit is October, but book the tour WAY in advance for obvious reasons. Even if you can’t get tickets to match your trip timeline, Salem is a fun place to visit.
Things to Know
Parking is a challenge. Wear comfortable shoes, and be ready to walk a lot! Also, bring snacks as restaurants get crowded fast! Allow for travel time, leaving home early to insure you make your tour time. Traffic into Salem gets tight especially during the Halloween Season.
