David Koechner stopped by the show today to promote his upcoming shows at Laugh Boston this weekend and to chat about his experiences on Anchorman and The Office. We all thought he was a blast and super nice. He answered all of our questions without a single eyeroll! Whammy!

Anchorman never gets old

Anchorman is one of my favorite comedies of all time, when it comes on or I happen to see it while scrolling the channels it's one that I have to pause to watch because it's humor never gets old. The cast was star studded and amazing, lead by Will Farrell it included Christina Applegate, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner.

David Koechner played the affable dim witted sports announcer Champ Kind, who has a strange man crush on Ron Burgandy. If you've seen Anchorman, (I suppose if you haven't you wouldn't be reading this) you know it has some of the most everlasting comedy lines of all time. From Sex Panther to Stay Classy San Diego to Champs "Whammy!"

The Office is always open!

The Office is a classic sitcom that plays nonstop on cable and even my daughters who were 5 and 7 when it started are now 23 and 26 and they watch it constantly!

What were the sets really like?

We asked David if working  on these shows was as fun as it looked or did he get anchor downed by all the egos?

Bob is a native New Englander, growing up (sorta) in Maine where his love for radio started at a young age. While in high school he hosted radio shows on a local radio station, and he has never looked back. Bob joined the US Navy and served onboard the Sixth Fleet Flagship as a radio and TV host. After serving for 3 years, it was off to Emerson College in Boston. Bob hosted shows in Boston on WMEX, WVBF and WSSH in the 80’s and 90’s before heading to radio stations in Raleigh, NC, Manchester, NH, and New York City. Bob has been married for almost 25 years to Carolyn, a Woburn gal and they have 3 daughters, Nicole, Taylor, and Bridget. Bob and Carolyn are proud first-time grandparents to baby Caroline, who they plan to spoil every chance they get! “I started my career in New England and could not be happier to come back to Boston where I can root for all the Boston sports teams and eat lots of lobster rolls and clam chowder (okay not lots)… It is an honor to host the WROR morning show with LBF and wake up the World’s Greatest City!” Bob writes about recipes and restaurants, pop culture and trending topics.
