NFL Franchise Owner Has Extensive Rock And Roll Memorabilia Collection
This is one rock and roll memorabilia collection I would LOVE to see!!!
Who’s this NFL franchise owner I’m talking about? Jim Irsay, billionaire owner of the Indianapolis Colts.
I don’t know much about the guy. Is he a good guy? No idea, but he does have a really cool collection of memorabilia and he’s sharing it with his football team’s fans today.
Football season started last night and not only do the New England Patriots play their first game of the season this weekend, so do the Colts. And the Colts owner is doing it up right for the fans.
They dye the canal water blue at noon today in Indianapolis and they’ll follow that up with a showing of some of Jim Irsay‘s massive collection of memorabilia at Lucas Oil Stadium. It’s free for the fans. But wait, that’s not all! Later tonight, the Jim Irsay Band will give a free, live performance. Big deal, right? It kind of is because his special guests will include: Ann Wilson of Heart, the legendary Buddy Guy, the incredible John Hiatt capped off with Indiana native John Mellencamp. And it’s free.
But wait, there’s more. The day of the Colts first game of the season, Indianapolis will host a free watch party with live music, food and tailgating.
Just sayin’. (Patriots? Anything? I mean, I know you can’t do it this Sunday but maybe some time in the future?)
But, back to the memorabilia, here are a few of Jim Irsay‘s personal belongings. And by the way, here’s an idea: why not take this rock and roll memorabilia collection on a football stadium tour with an entrance fee that goes to a charity? I know I’d pay good money to see this exhibition at Gillette.
Here’s a written LIST of some of the items that will be on display.
