Broken Down Boat Almost Leaves Bride Jilted at the Altar!
Planning a wedding comes with a lot of “what-ifs”.
What if it rains?
What if the car carrying the cake crashes?
Well, here’s a “what-if ” these newlyweds couldn’t have imagined.
Patrick and Hannah Mahoney, of Quincy, were set to marry on Saturday on Thompson Island in Boston Harbor.
Except when Patrick went to join his soon-to-be bride, the boat was…broken.
“I was in a little bit of a panic,” Patrick told WCVB-TV.
Yes, the ferry to Thompson Island had broken down and the replacement was at LEAST 40 minutes away!
Luckily, the Boston Police Department’s Harbor Patrol Unit came to the rescue.
According to Channel 5, “Boston police officers Joseph Matthews and Stefani McGrath quickly responded to the dock and were able to ferry Patrick, the groomsmen, the DJ, a photographer and the florist — along with the floral arrangements — to Thompson Island while making up some time on the water.”
With six minutes to spare!
All’s well that ends well, though. And the two were joined in holy matrimony by sundown.
Congrats, you crazy kids!
