Alicia Witt has opened up for the first time since her parents were tragically found dead in their Worcester home last month.

Witt posted a lengthy statement to Facebook on Tuesday clearing up some of the misconceptions surrounding the sudden passing’s of her parents, Robert and Diane. She explained that she hadn’t been allowed inside their home for well over a decade, regardless of her many attempts to help them with repairs.

“They refused to allow workers into their house. I begged, cried, tried to reason with them, tried to convince them to let me help them move – but every time, they became furious with me, telling me I had no right to tell them how to live their lives and that they had it all under control. It was not for a lack of trying on my part, or the part of other people who loved them.”

Witt explained that she did everything she could to help them. She continued, “I had no idea that their heat had gone out. I will never understand how or why they made the choice not to tell me this, not to let me help them with this. My heart is broken.”

She also stated that their last words to each other were “I love you.” Our thoughts are with Alicia and her family during this difficult time. Read her full tribute to her parents below.
