Pardon the pun, but “oh deer!” Foxboro police responded to the Ahern Middle School in town on Thursday night for what cops say was a “rather unique encounter.”
A deer somehow got its head stuck in a soccer net on school grounds, and couldn’t get loose without some assistance.
“The deer appeared to be struggling to free themself and was bleeding,” according to the Foxboro Police Department’s Facebook page.
“Officer Ryan McGrath responded and, after several minutes, was able to free the deer’s neck from the net. The startled deer was comforted with some water before it eventually rose to its feet and retreated into the woods.”
While it wasn’t a run of the mill call by any means, police say it was “all in a days work…”
