Massachusetts Could See Severe Egg Shortage and Higher Prices
Bad news for all you egg lovers… Massachusetts could be looking at a serious egg shortage, as well as higher prices, under a new law.
A state lawmaker is warning Massachusetts residents to expect a severe egg shortage and higher prices for eggs when a new law goes into effect January 1, according to Patch.com. The issue at stake is that Massachusetts farms produce just a fraction of the eggs purchased in the state, and most out-of-state producers will not comply with the new law. This means that most will not be able to import eggs to Massachusetts under the current version of the law.
