Largest Indoor GA Concert Venue in New England Coming to Allston-Brighton
A new concert hall is coming to Boston! And it’s not just any concert hall… it’s going to be the largest indoor general admission venue in New England once it opens, according to a press release from The Bowery Presents.
The Bowery Presents, the same owners behind the concert venues The Sinclair and Royale, announced the official name of the new venue opening in Allston-Brighton: Roadrunner. The new venue, which is currently under construction, plans to open up for concerts in the spring of 2022 with a capacity of 3,500 people. It is 50,000 square foot and located at 89 Guest St. at Boston Landing in Brighton, adjacent to “The TRACK at new balance.” Royale holds 1,200 people and The Sinclair holds 525, so this one is much larger than the other two Bowery venues in the city.
The venue is borrowing its name from a song by The Modern Lovers. The name of the venue “evokes a musical love letter to Massachusetts, while also nodding to the track located adjacent to the room and the high-energy world of live music,” said Josh Bhatti, vice president and head of the Boston office of The Bowery Presents, regional partner of AEG Presents, said in a press release on Wednesday. “To us, the song ‘Roadrunner’ so authentically belongs to Massachusetts and this new venue. There’s a reason why it came close to becoming the official state song: it’s transportive while still unifying people. We could not be more excited to welcome in fans next year.”
The venue has not announced any shows yet, but you can subscribe to their mailing list on their official website to be the first to know about events, information, and offers.
