Dolly Parton saved the night last night. Here's why:

Lucy, my daughter, was suddenly VERY nervous about getting her COVID vaccine. She's 17 and has Down syndrome, so she's in Phase 2. She was asking about it during dinner and kind of freaking out.

Then, right on cue, Dolly Parton appeared on the news and got her vaccine.

(Lucy has recently fallen in love with Dolly. I blame my introduction of "Hard Candy Christmas". And no, she's never seen the movie it's from, "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas".)

I wished I had videoed Lucy's reaction. It was priceless. And now that Dolly did it, Lucy is less nervous:
