Gordon Ramsay Reveals He Has Arthritis
Gordon Ramsay recently had surgery on his knee after falling during a training run in London, and has been diagnosed with arthritis.
He said in an interview with The Sun, “When I got the X-rays back, the doctor said, ‘You’ve got arthritis in your knee.’ I’d never heard that word in relation to me before. He told me I needed to start slowing down.”
After being told to pace himself, he shared the news with his mom, who seems to have the same temperament as Ramsay saying, “Stop being so stupid and to just get on with it.”
Currently, the 54-year-old chef trains for up to two hours a day, in addition to a grueling 12 hours of work. Ramsay is set to host a new game show called Bank Balance, where contestants can win up to £100,000 by answering questions correctly and balancing “gold” bars on a central pyramid. However, Ramsay cannot contain his swearing on television fetish, uttering his first “s—” within 43 seconds in the new game show.
The Daily Mail reports Gordon discussed his close friend David Beckham’s impressive cooking skills in an interview, saying the former footballer is a “real foodie.” He added that due to Beckham’s “incredible attention to detail,” he is confident he’d win the Great British Bake Off if ever given the chance to be on the show.
Ramsey currently owns 18 restaurants across London, with five more due to open once restaurant-eating normalcy returns. He also has a further 17 restaurants worldwide, all taking a devastating effect on the hospitality industry. Yahoo! reports Ramsay estimates that his restaurant empire has lost roughly $80 million as a result of the lockdowns but he remains optimistic his business could re-open by Easter.
