Why Michael McDonald is Trending on Twitter

Michael McDonald tends to keep a low radar, but the iconic singer started to trend on Twitter and for good reason.

Last night saw Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle take part in the Instagram Live/Apple Music series “Verzuz” where the two legends faced off with their lengthy hits collections. LaBelle brought to the “battle” her 1986 hit duet with McDonald “On My Own,” and when she did, Ms. Patti alluded to a long story involving McDonald but opted not to share it.

This, of course, piqued the interest of many watching “Verzuz” which lead to the following funny tweets:

Other tweets touched on simply appreciating LaBelle and McDonald’s classic duet.

However, one fan did mention McDonald, but they also posed an interesting matchup for an upcoming episode of “Verzuz.”
