While we remember Bobby Brown for the good and not so good times, we DON'T remember giving him credit for teaching Micheal Jackson how to pull off The Moonwalk. Well in a recent interview Bobby claims HE was the one.
Because I'm a broadcast and music professional, I had to do some digging. It didn't take long to find an actual article with the king of pop himself saying he learned from a member of the 1980's band, Shalamar. Here's Jeffery Daniel doing the Moonwalk on Soul Train, years before Michael performed it on the anniversary of the Apollo Theater TV special.
What's the lesson? When you take credit for an iconic dance move, check for video first.
