There’s one month left of winter so it’s time to start getting out of the house and back into the city. Below are a list of some of the top FREE events to do this weekend in and around Boston.
1. Mardi Gras Party with The Hot Tamale Brass Band
Come celebrate Mardi Gras in Boston with The Hot Tamale Brass Band! They’ve been leading the way in Boston for energetic, hard, hitting Nola Jazz since 1992. This Sunday they’ll be celebrating Mardi Gras in Medford. Get your family together and join them to listen to some FREE music.

2. Team Excel Free Winter Open House
Team Excel is hosting their FREE winter open house. Join them for some fun on the ice, all skating levels are welcomed! There will be coaches available to assist young skaters. Team Excel invited skated ages 5-15 to learn some skating basics and learn an introduction to synchronized skating.

3. Paws From Afar Doggie Pageant & Adoption Event
Paws From Afar is hosting their inaugural Doggie Pageant & Adoption Event! Meet adoptable dogs and have your pup participate in their very own doggie pageant. There will be multiple categories to win including best couch sufer, most unique sweater, sweetest snuggler, best senior dog and best wiggle butt. All are welcomed to this FREE event and refreshments will be served.

4. Apres Ski at Bow Market
If you’re looking to visit the base of a mountain without the hassle of going skiing first then head over to Apres Ski at Bow Market! Bow Market courtyard will be turned into the base of ski mountain with fire pits, blankets, hearty snacks, delicious drinks and more! Come dressed in your finest snow gear to enjoy all the fun. This event has FREE admission and all are welcomed, including dogs.

5. Franklin Park Winter Festival
Enjoy a cozy day os games, crafts, nature walks, hot chocolate and more at Franklin Park Winter Festival! This is the perfect event to create wonderful winter memories with your family. This family event is FREE and open to the public. All ages are welcomed. And if there is now on the ground you can count on sledding and snowman making as well.

6. Mass Ave Mardi Gras
Grab you beads and masks and celebrate Mardi Grad with Dorchester Brewing Co.! There will be classic Nola foods, plenty of fresh craft beer, cider, wine, music, costumes and more. This is the perfect time to check out their new four season rooftop! All are welcomed and admission to this event is FREE.

7. Margaritaville at City Tap House
