NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE - NOVEMBER 18: Patrick Simmons and Tom Johnston of The Doobie Brothers Perform Toulouse Street And The Captain and Me Albums Live at The Ryman on November 18, 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee. (Photo by Jason Kempin/Getty Images)

IMHO the Doobie Brothers are one of the. most. solid. rock bands, both in their writing and playing. There’s hardly a radio format that hasn’t played the Doobie Brothers.

They’re about to embark on their 50th Anniversary tour, they’re nominated for entrance into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2020 and they’re still making new music. (And I personally love that guitarist Patrick Simmons has not cut his hair.)

The Doobie Brothers have so many good songs! I’ve posted a couple of my favorites and I’m sure you have your own.

Tom Johnston and I caught up recently. He talked about their 50th anniversary, his friend Michael McDonald who’ll be joining them on the 50th Anniversary Tour (XFINITY Center in Mansfield July 3) and some new Doobie Brothers music coming out next year.

And please make sure you vote (HERE) to get them into the R and R Hall of Fame. They deserved to be inducted yesterday.
