Just as quickly as he came in, Antonio Brown has been released from the New England Patriots, the team announced in a statement on Friday afternoon.

“The New England Patriots are releasing Antonio Brown,” a statement from the team reads. “We appreciate the hard work of many people over the past 11 days, but we feel that it is best to move in a different direction at this time.”

The now-former Patriots wide receiver tweeted shortly before the team announced his release: “Thanks for the opportunity @Patriots #GoWinIt”.
