Nearly four dozen Jimmy Buffet fans reportedly became “seriously ill” while vacationing in the Dominican Republic.

Reps for the Central Oklahoma Parrothead Association say 114 of their members were visiting Punta Cana in April when 47 of them were overcome with a crippling illness that left most unable to leave their hotel rooms.

One woman, who says she’s “lucky to be alive,” lost 19 pounds during the ordeal. Parrothead Dana Flowers says most of the sick people “drank at the swim-up pool bar.”

The news comes on the heels of a report that two more American tourists have died under mysterious circumstances in the Dominican Republic, bringing the total number of deaths to nine.

An FBI investigation is focusing on the alcohol that’s provided to visitors after several of the deaths reportedly occurred after the victims drank from their hotel minibars.
