Rocketman director Dexter Fletcher says the Elton John biopic almost included a Bohemian Rhapsody crossover.
Fletcher, who also co-directed Rhapsody, says he wanted to include a scene where Elton John crosses paths with Rami Malek’s Freddie Mercury in a restaurant.
Mercury would have been meeting with Elton’s manager John Reid, who also briefly managed Queen in the 1970’s and who appears in both films – played by different actors.
Fletcher ultimately decided against the scene, saying he wasn’t “looking to set out to make a cinematic universe”.
