Comedy Legend Tim Conway Dead at 85

Tim Conway, the legendary comedic actor best known for his work on McHale’s Navy and The Carol Burnett Show, has died at the age of 85.
A rep for Conway confirmed his passing to The Hollywood Reporter. Conway was suffering from dementia and had brain surgery in September, which left him unable to speak.
Conway’s breakout role came with Ensign Charles Parker on McHale’s Navy, which ran on ABC for four seasons from 1962-66. Conway, however, would have his greatest success as part of the cast of The Carol Burnett Show, which ran for 11 seasons on CBS from 1967-78.
During his time on The Carol Burnett Show, Conway would earn three Primetime Emmy Awards: Best Supporting Actor in 1973 and 1977 and Outstanding Writing in 1978. Conway would early two more Emmy Awards later in his career for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy series in 1996 for his guest role on Coach and 2008 on 30 Rock.
